Kerstin Vornmoor
sounds of silence

/ 9

Kerstin Vornmoor works with painterly and with three-dimensional, installative formats. Her work appear at first glance as abstract, monochromatic studies of colour, surface structure and transparency. On a closer look, though, you can see a variety of figurative motives repeating, amending and superposing each other. In Vornmoor's work, abstraction follows from an ornamental application and alienation of figurative elements.

Kerstin Vornmoor, born 1970 in the north-western German town of Vechta, has studied at the HfBK (University of Fine Arts) in Hamburg (with Prof. Werner Büttner and Wolfgang Oppermann)and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Toulouse. Her work can be found in several public art collections.
